Board of Directors Elections

The annual election of Directors of the IGC will take place on June 20, 2000, to fill four (4) Board positions.    Pursuant to the By Laws,  the terms of three (3) Full Members and one (1) Associate Member will expire at that time.

A Nominating Committee comprised the Vice-Chair Albert Angel (albe@ibill.com) and the Treasurer Charles Crawford ) has been established by the Board. The four (4) current Directors whose terms are expiring have all expressed an interest in reapplying for a position on the Board.

IGC members in good standing who are interested in putting forward their name as a candidate are encouraged to do so. Names of prospective candidates should be provided to either of the Nominating Committee members by close of business 21 April to allow the Committee to finalize a list of candidates as soon as possible.

If a Member's name is not included in the Nominating Committee's list of candidates and they still wish to nominate, they may still be nominated by petition. In order to qualify for the ballot, a petition nominee must obtain the signatures of 5% of individual Members in good standing as of April 1 on the petition form provided by the Council. A petition form is to be filed with the Vice Chair not later than 12:00 noon (Eastern Time) 30 days after the publishing of the Nominating Committees candidates. Please contact the Executive Director if you would like a Petition Form.

The ballot will also contain a place for write-in nominees. Candidates listed on the final ballot will be requested to provide a short personal "bio" plus a brief synopsis of their priorities for the association. Criteria (including length) are to be provided.

Please refer to the IGC Bylaws for clarification.
