Board of Directors Elections
With the pending relocation of the IGC to Vancouver and the subsequent commencement of operations of the IGC under (new) Canadian by-laws, information in the previous article on the IGC election has been amended to reflect the "future" direction of the IGC. The Canadian by-laws provide for a maximum of 13 Directors. With five (5) positions to be occupied for a further year, there will be eight (8) Director positions to be filled in the election to be held on August 26.
The electronic ballot will comprise a list of those candidates nominated by the Nominating Committee and other members who indicate their desire to participate as a candidate in the election. Members are encouraged to "throw their hat in the ring" as the increased number of Directors is reflective of the desire of the IGC to embrace an even more diversified Board representation.
Members who are interested in being nominated as a candidate for a board position should forward their notice of such intention to the Nominating Committee of Albert Angel (albe@ibill.com) and Charles Crawford (signatures@aol.com) by no later than July 31, 2000. Accompanying the advice is to be a brief "biography" (no more than 50 words) plus a statement (no more than 20 words) describing the contribution that the person believes that they can make, as a Director, to the future direction of the IGC.
Please refer to the IGC Bylaws for clarification.
