Protection Programs for Consumers and Gambling Operators:
ICRA useful links “link” provides additional sites that might be of interest in regard to filters or assistance to block minors. The Internet Content Rating Association is an international, independent organization that empowers the public, especially parents, to make informed decisions about electronic media by means of the open and objective labeling of content. ICRA's dual aims are to: - protect children from potentially harmful material; and, - to protect free speech on the Internet. Operators are recommended to label their site/s.
The website www.gamblock.com purports to block advertising. While the IGC does not attest to this capability, the site, if able to block intrusive advertisements, may be helpful to those customers who decide to stop gambling.
Gambling operators may wish to make available to consumers links to assist with blocking access to gambling products by children (some of these may require a financial outlay). Schedule A from the (Australian) Internet Industry Association (IIA) Code for Industry Co-Regulation in the Area of Internet Gambling Content pursuant to the requirements of the Interactive Gambling Act 2001 contains filter products and services that may be of interest to operators. Examples of the above (some of which may require a financial outlay) include, but are not restricted to, the following:
- Safe Kids
- Surf Control
- Solid Oak
- AOL Parental Control
- Arlington Custom Browser
- Cyber Patrol
- Cyber Sentinel
- CyberSitter

- Igear
- InterScan WebManager N2H2
- NetNanny
- Norton Internet Security Family Edition
- Smart Filter
- Too C.O.O.L.
- XStop
- Xstop R2000
The inclusion of a filtering product or service in the Schedule is subject to the IIA being satisfied of the following criteria:
- Ease of installation (where applicable);
- Ease of use;
- Configurability;
- Availability of support; and
- The presence of management systems within commercial filter Suppliers to ensure that ABA updates are actioned and undertakings by those Suppliers to include all notifications made by the ABA under the IGA.
